Cumbia Music
Hi everyone :)
Today i will talk about my favorite music. Cumbia is my favorite music, my parents listen this music since I was a child. Different types of cumbia, of different artists and places. This music was born in Colombia and it's listened in the majority of Latin America. In Chile the people listen very much to this type of music. Chile have a lot of bands of cumbia and now in Chile a new music movement has arrived, called "Nueva cumbia Chilena".
I like this music because is very happy and funny, you can dance this music wichever way you want.
Over the years this music change. The bands has new instruments in their songs, like guiro, electric guitar, keyboard, trombone, bass guitar, accordion and others. Argentina has one type of cumbia in specific called "cumbia villera". The first exponent of this cumbia was Pablo Lescano, he has his band called "Damas Gratis". Cumbia villera talks about the poor persons, also about the shanty towns in Argentina. The first band like me was Villa Cariño, but now they make music for uppity people, in my opinion hahaha so, I don't like so much like five years ago. (but I love they still, sometimes hahaha) talking about chileans artirts because the first artist I listened in my life was Armando Hernandez, Tomy Rey, Vikings 5, Sonora Palacios and others thanks to my parents.
I go to events of cumbia in many places like "Teatro Caupolican", "Club Hipico", "Hipodromo Chile" all year long, here the bands play their music, each event has around nine or more bands. My favorite artist is "Santa Feria". Santa Feria is a cumbia music group and has ten musicians. This band started in winter of 2008 and the name "Santa Feria" refers to the diversity of fairs in the world.
They play new Chilean cumbia, in a style they call "cumbia casera", which combines elements in a fusion of cumbia, cumbia villera argentina and other Latin American styles. I like the topics that approach their songs of the drunk, football, fans , the love and the lack of love. His most famous song is "Sakate 1" that addresses marijuana consumption.
I hope you enjoyed this blog! see you next week :)
